PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Lorenzo was born in 2000. He joined Studio Legale Padovan as a trainee lawyer in February 2026.

Lorenzo focuses mainly on trade compliance, export control, and international sanctions.

EDUCATION
Lorenzo graduated cum laude in Law in 2022 from the University of Bologna. He wrote an interdisciplinary master thesis in Comparative Public Law, Law of the European Union and International Law, titled: “The Governance of Unilateral Economic Sanctions: a comparison between the United States and the European Union”.
He spent a semester in the United Kingdom as an Erasmus student at the School of Law of the University of Essex, where he focused on the study of core features of the common law system. He then attended intensive academic programmes in sanctions law, economic security, and geopolitics at Utrecht University, the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), and the Limes School of Geopolitics.

SELECTED ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
During his university studies, he worked at the Embassy of Italy in Washington D.C., where he had the opportunity to closely monitor the activities of the main U.S. agencies responsible for the enforcement of U.S. economic sanctions.
He is a regular contributor to leading legal and geopolitical journals, where he writes on topics that span U.S. law, economic sanctions, and tariff policy.
