PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Marianna was born in 1992. She began her legal practice in 2015. She was admitted to practice law in July 2018 and registered as a member of the Rome Bar Association. She has worked with leading national and international law firms, focusing on corporate criminal law, criminal liability of legal entities pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, and corporate internal investigations. She joined Studio Legale Padovan in 2026.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Marianna provides consulting and assistance to Italian and multinational companies on corporate criminal law and corporate compliance. Along her professional experience, she gained noteworthy experience in corporate criminal liability pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, providing both judicial and extra judicial assistance. In particular, she has accrued extensive experience in managing projects relating to the adoption and updating of Organizational, Management and Control Models under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, in the drafting of internal policies and procedures, internal regulations and Codes of Ethics, in the implementation and management of internal whistleblowing channels, as well as in providing ongoing advisory support and assistance to Supervisory Bodies appointed pursuant to the aforementioned Legislative Decree No. 231/2001. She also has considerable experience in managing corporate internal investigations.
EDUCATION
Marianna holds a law degree cum laude (2015) from LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome, with a thesis on economic criminal law entitled “The Crime of Self Laundering within the Anti Money Laundering Framework”. In 2019, she obtained a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, conducting a doctoral research project focusing on corporate preventive controls (i.e. supervisory bodies, whistleblowing channels and corporate internal investigations) and corporate criminal liability under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001.
SELECTED ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
During her university career, Marianna spent a study period abroad at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), where she also conducted research connected with her master’s thesis. In 2017, she further expanded her academic background by attending the Summer School “The EU Area of Criminal Justice” at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). As a scholarship recipient, she subsequently completed two advanced specialization master’s programs organized by the IPSOA School of Legal Training, focusing respectively on Legislative Decree No. 231/2001 in business organizations and on tax criminal law. She is also the author of several publications in scientific and academic legal journals.
MEMBERSHIPS
Marianna is a member of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA – Italy Chapter) and she is also actively involved at international level as a member of the Junior Professional Committee of the Association.
